DRAWBACKS
· Questions were ambiguous e.g. Q’s 4, 20, 22, 23
· Reflects on organisation – i.e. when asking questions that are unclear
· Clarity of words used e.g. local
· Need prompt notes for interviewers
· Number key 1 – 5 difference between numbers on scoring system
FILLING A QUESTIONNAIRE ALONE
ADVANTAGES
· Limited time pressure
· Opportunity to get going and identifying issues and looking for ways forward
· No need to justify your opinion to someone else
DRAWBACKS
· Needs clear information and examples of change plus pre paid envelope
· Faceless – limited potential for relationship building
· Keep filling them in – nothing happens so why bother
· What will the information be used for
SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION
ADVANTAGES
· Can identify consensus
· Bonding – relationship building
· Question asked out loud and sharing different perspectives
· Lots of digressions
· Finding out about each other
· Identify area of agreement and disagreement
· Breaks down barriers
· Positives of different people coming together and identifying range of similarities and differences too.
· Small groups less daunting
DRAWBACKS
· Questions not clear
· Can go on – go off the subject – although identify other issues

HOW WAS IT
· Took time to understand what was required, how, group agreement on how
· Outcome surprising – different to what I had expected
· Collecting information and creating some sense of overview
· Number crunching can come before trying to understand what they mean
· Reality of analysing large numbers of surveys
· Nee to be clear of which group of people

· Good neighbours very little confidence about community
· Dramatic change for the better over 5 years or more and possible to identify why
