What is Community?

A community is a group of people with some common characteristics or concerns. Community is a network of relationships which exist over a long period of time. These same people also have other relationships and networks and belong to other communities.

The term community is used to mean all the people in a given neighbourhood, town, estate or parish - a geographical community. Or a network of people with other strong interests in common, whether or not these are geographically grouped, for example a community of young or old people. We are all members of several communities and our ties with them can increase or decrease
